Technology
AJ eBiochip uses microarray
technology with fully electrical detection
of affinity complexing of biomolecules. This
patented technology is based on the long term R&D
at the Fraunhofer Institute for Silicon Technology (ISIT) in Germany,
which produces a special type of microarrays with
nanometer-sized electrodes.
AJ eBiochip employs advanced
piezospotting techniques to produce functional biointerfaces on low density microarrays. The universal
assay principle of enzyme labelling and amplifying electrochemical
detection allow the fast and quantitative electrical detection
of all types of affinity complex forming biomolecules, e.g.,
nucleic acids, proteins and cell surfaces.
Using the intrinsic capabilities of fully electrical biochip systems
in combination with integrated electronics and sophisticated microfluidics,
AJ eBiochip has developed highly miniaturised and portable analytical
devices.
The fully automated analytic
procedures use proprietary disposable ChipSticks , where the
electrical arrays are packaged in a in a lab-on-chip
arrangement. This technology enables to adapt quickly different
applications into the same low cost analytical system.
